Virginia L MossbargerJuly 31, 1930 ~ February 23, 2019 (age 88)
Virginia Louise Mossbarger peacefully passed away February 23, 2019 at the age of 88 in Willow Springs, North Carolina. Virginia was born on July 31, 1930 in Carey, Ohio to Lester and Lilla Snyder as one of 6 children.
On December 10, 1949 she was married to George Mossbarger and they had 3 daughters: Phyllis Romig, Gwyn Nash (preceded in death) and Gloria Kuhn. Four grandchildren also survive her: Sonya, Blake, Jarred, Brittany; and 6 great-grandchildren: Logan, Renee, Evan, Kylie, Caiden and Grayson.
Virginia was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses one year after her husband, on December 4, 1954 and faithfully served Jehovah for the next 64 years. Together, George and Virginia raised their 3 girls to love Jehovah and assisted others to do the same. Even after she became ill, she shared her faith and the grand promises of God’s Kingdom she so fervently believed in, whenever she could.
Virginia loved traveling. Her travels included the entire contiguous United States and Hawaii, all of Canada, as well as parts of Mexico and Europe. She especially loved her trip to Ireland where she researched her family’s background (the O’Grady’s). If there’s a Passport Office in Paradise, she’ll be one of the first in line! She enjoyed camping with her husband and 3 girls, music, dancing, eating out and showing hospitality to the friends. Ever the hostess, the Mossbarger home was always a gathering spot.
Virginia, although feisty, will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Virginia quickly made strangers into friends, George always said “the gift of gab was her talent”. And, she made herself a friend and faithful servant to her Heavenly Father, Jehovah.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the many friends that showed their loving, generous care and support during her and our time of need. As Prov. 17:17 says “A true friend show love at all times, and is a brother who is born for times of distress.”
