Elouise Pardue ChurchApril 12, 1928 ~ January 28, 2019 (age 90)
Elouise Pardue Church passed away peacefully on Monday, January 28, 2019. She was blessed to have 90 wonderful years. She was born April 12, 1928, raised in Wilkes County NC, the oldest of six children. She met the love of her life, Kern Church, while working at Belk’s in North Wilkesboro. After eloping on Christmas Day 1947, the newlyweds moved to Raleigh where Kern was attending N. C. State (NCSU).
Kern and Elouise settled in Raleigh and raised five children. Elouise was an avid reader, as well as a talented piano and keyboard player who loved to play for family. Her life always hummed with activity, with five children, numerous dogs, cats and horses, and lots of land to care for. Spending time with family, traveling coast to coast in an RV camper, vacationing at the family cottage in Atlantic Beach NC, and cheering for and supporting her grandchildren’s school and sporting events were the great joys of her life. Another great love in later years was Katt, her calico cat who accompanied her and Kern on camping and beach trips.
She is survived by her five children: Ron (and Shirley) Church of Angier NC; David (and Wanda) Church of Garner NC; Debbie (and Richard) Foxworth of Stone Mountain GA; Stephen Church (and Elizabeth Barnard) of Fuquay-Varina NC; and Anne (and Danny) Allen of Snow Camp NC; sister, June Canter of Wilkesboro NC; brothers Don (and Carol) Pardue and Carlos (and Betty) Pardue, both of Wilkesboro NC; Fred (and Jane) Pardue of Clemson SC; and Tommy (and Diana) Pardue of Boydton VA.; eight grandchildren: Bruce (and Quincey) Church and Glenn Church of Angier NC; Brad (and Stacey) Church and Ryan Church of Garner NC; Katie (and Brian) Lee of Atlanta GA.; Julie (and Josh) Wallace of Buford GA; Ginny (and Mark) Ivey of Fuquay-Varina NC.; Rachel (and Adam) Powell of Cary NC; step grandchildren, Andy and Brent Allen of Raleigh; Skye (and Tess) McDonald of Lyons CO; and great-grandchildren: EmmaRose, Ben, and Will Church; Julianne and Elouise Lee; Aiden Wallace; Reagan and Mackenzie Ivey; Caden Powell; Gracelyn Church (due in May); and step great-grandchildren Trea and Meran McDonald.
