Vicky Ryals Slater, 50, passed away at home on Sunday, May 18, 2008. Ms. Slater was born in Wake county to the late Wilbur and Joyce Ryals.

Ms. Slater is survived by her daughter Kristal Wright and husband Wesley, sister Toni Laughlin and husband Tim, grandchild Kandace Wright, and nephew Tanner Laughlin. She also leaves behind Lott Slater and Pat and Walter Slater.

    I am so sorry to hear about vicky’s passing. She has influnced me in so many ways. She has been a friend and mentor to me. I use to work with Vicki about 10 years ago. I knew every day she was working it was going to be a good day. She never failed to make me smile and laugh. She was a fantastic person. Toni, my heart goes out to you as well. I got the privlege of meeting you as well awhile back. You and your family will be in my prayers.

    My sister in law, Vicky, never wronged me in the 17 years I knew her. I felt that she always supported me and we rarely opposed each other on petty issues.
    I will miss her greatly.
